凝望鄧南光　觀景窗下的優游詩人1924-1945

台湾・新竹市に「鄧南光影像紀念館」が作られるほど、台湾を代表する写真家の一人として名高い鄧南光（DENG Nan-Guang、1907-1971）。移りゆく日本統治下の台湾をライカのファインダー越しに見つめた青春の日々。激動の時代は彼の目にどのように写ったのでしょうか。
本書は1924年から45年の間に撮影された作品を収録。あどけない笑顔の子供たち、華やぐ女性、祭りで賑わう街角、そして戦地に赴く男たち。民族色も豊かに瑞々しいまま切り取られた風景は、二度と戻らない日々を伝えています。
収録にあたり、一部の作品には慎重に考察を重ねた彩色を施しています。浮かび上がる、モノクロでは判別が難しかった情報の数々。観る者を「新しい過去」へいざないます。
 
DENG Nan-Guang (1907-1971) is one of the most famous photographers in Taiwan, there is his memorial museum in Hsinchu City. He were staring at the changing Taiwan under the rule of the Empire of Japan by through the Leica's finder in his youthful days. How was that dynamic changing reflected in his eyes? This book contains works photographed between 1924 to1945. There are children's innocent smile, cheerful women, a crowded street corner with festivals, and men who go to the battlefields. The cut scenes that remain fresh with rich ethnic color tell us the days never return. 
Some photograph were colored with careful consideration based on reality. With this, informations which were difficult to distinction in monochrome appeared, and you will be able to see "new past”!
